Surgical Instrument Care & Handling Techniques
This lecture will teach the techniques to properly inspect, clean and maintain surgical instruments including: clinical elements of instrument inspection, determining if instruments require service, proper techniques for cleaning and processing surgical instruments following surgery, proper lubrication techniques, instrument testing standards, sterilization instructions, use of proper clinical solutions and identifying products that damage surgical instruments.
The participant's competency in these techniques will be evaluated by their completion of a survey questionnaire following the lecture.

Mr. Vrancich has been working in the Surgical Instrument industry since 1995 and is considered a leading expert in the field.
Mr. Vrancich has authored several articles on the subjects of surgical instrument care and the surgical instrument repair process. Mr. Vrancich is an author of many articles on these topics and is also a frequent contributor to leading publications. Publications include: Managing Infection Control, Healthcare Purchasing News, Infection Control Today, DMV and Veterinary Practice News.He is a member of AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation).
Mr. Vrancich lectures extensively and is a well known speaker in both veterinary and human medical fields. Mr. Vrancich travels extensively to Germany working closely with manufacturers to learn various techniques for improved processing and instrument quality.
Mr. Vrancich is married and the father if two boys, ages 10 and 15.
