Cardiology

Dr. Betkowski earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences in 1986, and her VMD, magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She completed her internship at AMC in New York in 1992 and her Cardiology Residency at Tufts in 1998. Dr. Betkowski was admitted to the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine with subspecialty of Cardiology in 1998. Cardiology consultations are available with Dr. Betkowski on Mondays and Thursdays from 1 pm to 5 pm. Please call anytime to schedule an appointment.

The sophistication of cardiac (heart) diagnosis has improved dramatically in the last decade. This includes noninvasive examination and diagnostics as well as our knowledge of pathophysiology and the efficacy of drug therapy. With today's advanced technology, veterinary cardiologists can diagnose and treat congenital and acquired heart disease, allowing dogs and cats to live longer and better quality lives.
